The Skills Strategy
The Skills Strategy project originated in September 2006 in response to South Australia’s relative performance against five critical national indicators:
- Employment Participation – below National Average
- VET Participation – below National Average
- Higher Labour Productivity – below National Average
- Higher Post School Qualifications – below National Average
- Cost per Hour of Delivery – above National Average
Since 2006, significant work has been carried out by a project team and the findings presented in a report: ‘New Ways, New Engagement: A Skills Strategy for South Australia’s Future’, which was endorsed by Government on 25 February 2008.
Implementation
The following elements have been developed to ensure the successful implementation of the Skills Strategy:

Element C: VET Infrastructure
