Regional competitions are the first level of the WorldSkills competition cycle.

Regional competitions are held over one day and consist of projects to be completed within a set time frame. A selection of place getters then advance to the National Competition the following year.

The next WorldSkills Regional competitions in Adelaide will from May to October 2013, with approximately 30 competitions taking place across the metropolitan area, in skills ranging from beauty care to bricklaying. Am I eligible to enter?

All applicants must:

  1. Either work, live or study in the region where they apply for entry into competition.
  2. Have the approval of their employer to participate for the one day of competition.
  3. Undertake to abide by the rules of the competition.

Meet the age restrictions applicable for the year of entry (in general, this is usually 23 years of age or under for regional competitions).

Guidelines:

  1. All National Competition participants must have competed in a  Regional Competition.
  2. Regional committees will be responsible for nominating their most appropriate competitor for the National Competition.
  3. There is no guarantee of any pathway following the Regional or National Competition.
