DFEEST’s vision is for South Australia to have the best workforce in Australia.

To help achieve this vision, the DFEEST Strategic Plan 2010-14 maps out seven clear goals which we will develop with our partners over the next five years.

Goal 1: Exemplary workforce planning and development

Goal 2: Strong industry partnerships

Goal 3: High levels of participation and achievement in learning and work

Goal 4: Excellence in tertiary education and training

Goal 5: World competitive research, technology and innovation

Goal 6: Skills and technology for the State's environmental sustainability

Goal 7: DFEEST is a high performance organisation

These goals are aligned with the overarching strategy for South Australia, which is covered by South Australia’s Strategic Plan (SASP), the blueprint for the State’s development and wellbeing, guiding Government decisions on direction and investment.

SASP is underpinned by a number of strategic directions and documents addressing important  issues that also inform the DFEEST Plan including: Skills for All, the 30-Year Plan for Greater Adelaide, the Information Economy Agenda along with plans and strategies for achieving improvements in economic and social wellbeing, environmental sustainability and outcomes for Aboriginal people.
