The Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) program was established in 1990 as an industry-led, collaborative, medium to long-term research program. To date, the Federal Government has committed more than $3.4 billion.

The Department of Further Education, Employment, Science and Technology has adopted a whole of government approach to State Government investment in CRCs, with this approach being endorsed by the Premier Science and Industry Council. The assistance program aims to optimise the strategic benefits of CRCs to the State, adopt a consistent approach to merit based assessment and minimising administrative effort throughout government.

Applications are now open for potential CRC bids who are seeking assistance from the SA Government. The guidelines, application form and annual reporting template are provided below.

Please note, the CRC selection panel will place a particular focus on growing advanced manufacturing, clean green food, realising the benefits of the mining boom for all South Australians, and creating a vibrant city.

Key dates for this program are:
  • proposals open – 9 March 2012
  • proposals close – 13 April 2012
  • the selection panel, chaired by the Chief Scientist of South Australia, will meet week beginning 16 April 2012 to discuss bids
  • copy of presentation and overview for the interviews will be required by 27 April 2012
  • interviews will be held over two days – 30 April 2012 and 1 May 2012
